Sleeping like a baby…

I may be speaking too soon and could possibly regret starting this post with my third trimester rapidly approaching next week but I have been sleeping so so well the last 6/8 weeks!!

I had a glitch about 8 weeks ago where I kept waking up at 4 am and couldn’t get back to sleep but I think this was associated with a cold that I couldn’t shift due to not being able to take my trusty friend Night Nurse whilst pregnant. Since my cold has gone I have literally slept like a baby except for waking up once a night for the loo and there’s a few things that I think have aided my sleep and helped me to relax so I thought I’d share them with you.

Firstly this gorgeous deep sleep night oil from This Works. I got this as a Christmas gift from my sister a few years ago and have been rubbing two pumps onto my bump and chest every night since I found out I was expecting and it’s still got quite a lot left in the bottle. It’s non greasy and easily absorbed into the skin, so doesn’t leave marks on your pyjamas or bedding. It’s 100% natural so good for you and baby, made with lavender, vetivert, camomile and grape seed oil. It smells lovely and just helps me feel relaxed before I get into bed and at the same time it’s good for stretch mark prevention keeping moisture locked into your skin. I received my oil in a gift set with the pillow spray which i also use most nights, it smells heavenly and makes me feel peaceful before I go to sleep… I don’t know if it really does make you fall asleep faster or if it’s just a placebo effect but whatever it is, I think you’ll enjoy your sleep!

The second thing that has helped me relax before bed is this So Sleepy Bath Soak from Tropics. The smell is insane!!!!!!! Your whole house will literally transform into a spa thanks to the clever blend of sleep inducing aromas white lavender, eucalyptus and frankincense. It turns from an oil to milk so leaves your skin silky smooth. I pour 2 capfuls into the bath as it’s running and then lay back and breathe in the gorgeous aromas! Thank me later!

And saving the best til last. The bbhugme pregnancy pillow I received this week as a lovely gift. Boy did this come at the perfect time, my bumps suddenly got huge and sleeping on my side was becoming uncomfortable. The pregnancy pillow is really long so that it can provide support where its most needed. Around your belly, lower back, pelvis, knees and ankles for full 5- point support. I’ve slept with it for three nights now and it’s a complete game changer! The pillow is filled with micro beads, giving flexible but sturdy support. I actually don’t think I could be comfier if I tried, I just hug it all night long…. sorry Charlie!

It comes in 3 colours, I chose dusty pink and vanilla but all of the colours are gorgeous, I actually also want to buy the eucalyptus and coral cover because it will go nicely on my sofa. The covers can easily be changed and are also machine washable. I highly recommend this product!
